Our History.

Formerly known as Rae McLean & Associates Ltd., our journey of delivering exceptional engineering services in Western Canada began in 1969. The original firm, Klein Dashevsky & Associates, established its first Calgary office that year. In 1977, Robert Rae, Principal Emeritus, took on the role of Alberta manager and later acquired the firm in 1980, renaming it to Rae McLean & Associates Ltd.

Scott Freeman took over the firm in 2023 as Managing Principal and led the company’s rebrand to RMA Engineering in 2026, establishing a forward-looking identity focused on the future of engineering in Western Canada.

With over 56 years in business and more than 8000 projects successfully completed, we are proud to be one of the oldest and renowned engineering firms in Western Canada. Our decades of experience and extensive expertise make us uniquely equipped to handle any design challenge.
